H συγγραφέας και εκπαιδευτικός Βησσαρία Ζορμπά Ραμμοπούλου παρουσιάζει το βιβλίο μου “Ψίθυροι στην αμμουδιά”, που κυκλοφορεί από τις Εκδόσεις Καλειδοσκόπιο σε εικονογράφηση Έφης Κοκκινάκη:
Ένα παράκτιο φυτό που κινδυνεύει με εξαφάνιση λόγω της αλόγιστης τουριστικής ανάπτυξης, μας συστήνει το χαριτωμένο βιβλίο για μικρά παιδιά της πολυπράγμονος εκπαιδευτικού Εύης Τσιτιρίδου-Χριστοφορίδου, το οποίο συμπληρώνεται από τις πανέμορφες εικόνες της Έφης Κοκκινάκη. Πρόκειται για το Pancratium maritinum, γνωστό ως «Κρινάκι της θάλασσας», φυτό ευρύτατα διαδεδομένο στις ακτές της Μεσογείου από τα αρχαιότατα χρόνια. Απεικονίζεται μάλιστα στα αρχαία ανάκτορα της Κνωσού, στις πασίγνωστες τοιχογραφίες «Ο Πρίγκιπας με τα Κρίνα» και «Γαλάζιο Πουλί» καθώς και στην αρχαία Θήρα/Σαντορίνη, στην περίφημη “Tοιχογραφία της Άνοιξης”. Η λαογραφική παράδοση στην Ελλάδα του αποδίδει και το όνομα «Κρίνος της Παναγίας», επειδή ανθίζει τον Αύγουστο, μήνα αφιερωμένο στη θρησκευτική γιορτή της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου ή «Πάσχα του Καλοκαιριού» για τους Νεοέλληνες.
Ωστόσο, το βιβλίο δεν είναι απλά ένα βιβλίο γνώσεων. Χάρη στο αφηγηματικό εύρημα της συγγραφέως το βιβλίο κατορθώνει να εκπληρώσει δύο παιδαγωγικούς στόχους: Μετάδοση γνώσεων για την οικολογική αλυσίδα των παράκτιων περιοχών της Μεσογείου και μετάδοση αξιών και στάσεων για την άρση των στερεοτύπων. Και τούτο το δεύτερο, δυσκολότερο στόχο τον κατορθώνει η συγγραφέας συστήνοντάς μας μια ολόκληρη κοινότητα πλασμάτων: μια οικογένεια καβουριών, μια θαλάσσια χελώνα, έναν αστερία, μια αλιώτιδα, έναν ασημόγλαρο, όστρακα και μαλάκια και μια νυχτοπεταλούδα, ερωτευμένη με το κρινάκι! Αξιοποιώντας το γνωστό από την εποχή ακόμη του Αισώπου αφηγηματικό τέχνασμα της ανθρωποποίησης φυτών και ζώων, η συγγραφέας συνθέτει αριστοτεχνικά την αφήγηση μιας καθημερινότητας. Σε αυτήν οι γλωσσικές μεταφορές παραπέμπουν σε φυσικές ιδιότητες, ενώ η παρουσίαση των περιβαλλοντικών εξαρτήσεων φυτών και ζώων υποδηλώνουν ηθικοπολιτικές στάσεις που συντελούν στην αλληλεγγύη και στην κοινωνική συνοχή.
Η εικονογράφηση αξιοποιεί και αναδεικνύει μοναδικά τη λεκτική εικονοποιία και τις παρομοιώσεις του κειμένου προσφέροντας στο μικρό αναγνώστη ένα κατατοπιστικό, γοητευτικό, αξιαγάπητο ανάγνωσμα, το οποίο συνοδεύεται από προτάσεις για εκπαιδευτικές δράσεις στο σχολείο και στο σπίτι.

A sea side plant, which is in danger of extinction, because of uncontrollable tourist development, is the protagonist of a cute book, written for little kids, by the well-known educator Evi Tsitiridou-Christoforidou, illustrated by Efi Kokkinaki.
It is the plant under the scientific name Pancratium maritinum or known as the ‘Sea Lilium” which is wide spread at the Coast line of Mediterranean Sea, since the ancient times. It is depicted on the Wall paintings of Knossos Palace in Crete, in the re-known Wall Paintings “The Prince of Lilies” and the “Blue Bird” as well found in Thera/Santorini, “Mural of Spring”.
The Greek Folklore Tradition, attributes the name “The Virgin Mary’s Lily” because it blooms in August, the month which is dedicated to the religious celebration of Mother Mary, or otherwise called “The Easter of Summer” for the Greeks of modern times. However, this particular book isn’t a simple book of information. Thanks to its narrative elements, invented by the writer, accomplishes two specific pedagogical targets: spreading knowledge as afar as the ecological coast chain of the areas surrounding the Mediterranean Sea, as well as transmitting those aspects and values of deleting the stereotypes. The writer succeeds the second goal, the most difficult one, by introducing to the readers a whole ecosystem of creatures: a crab family, a sea turtle, a star fish, a haliotid, a herring gull, shells and molluscs, a butterfly in love with the lily!
Using the narrative technique known from the times of Aesop’s, giving life to plants and animals, the writer synthesizes in the best way the daily life. The metaphors used, lead to natural traits, while the presentation of both plants and animals, dependent on environmental situations, denote the moral and political forms that contribute to solidarity and social integration.
The illustrator gives value in a unique way to the text and its metaphors, offering to the little reader, a very informative, charming, lovable book, accompanied with activities to be incorporated for school projects and homework, alike.
Evi Tsitiridou-Christoforidou, was born in Athens, where she currently lives, although she is from Pontus and Crete. She studied Pedagogy and Management of Cultural Units. She has cooperated with different Social and Private Bodies, non profit organisations, with the view to inform, sensibilize, for issues, related to information, children and adults’ education, on Culture and environment ones. She was a columnist for 16 years at her column “The Explorers go Everywhere” in newspaper “KATHIMERINI”. She works in public schools since 2003. She presented her writings in 2005, with fairytales, short stories, adaptations of classic stories, book activities and poetry. Her stories received praise from the Greek IBBY, Women’s Literary Team, and ESTIA Neas Smyrnis. She writes in her own blog, leaving traces of her writing and educational activities.
